Have you realized how much they talk about oak trees in country music songs? People getting married under the oaks, living life under the oaks, and then of course getting buried under the oaks. The songs make it much more appealing than I do. Upon spending more time in the south and realizing the kind of lives that are lived among the oaks, it began to feel like a magical place. Usually what you hear in a lot of songs are far stretched from reality, but in this case, reality seemed even better than the pictures those songs had painted for me. Magical indeed.
