Mom and dad were visiting for Thanksgiving and I took us to walk the Ravenel bridge. As someone who obsessively takes photos, I try to be conscientious of not slowing people down from an adventure when I'm enjoying my picture-taking. My parents have always supported my explorations-with-camera and I'm lucky that they usually wait up for me. On this particular day as the sun was setting the colors were changing so rapidly from one vivid color to the next. We had paused for a good 20 minutes in the middle of the bridge while we all snapped away. Thinking they may be done with the bridge and all of it's shaky glory I offered to head back, but Dad said we should stay a little longer. Within the next 5 minutes or so I caught these colors and they disappeared just as soon as they came. Many moments with family and natural beauties of the world are so unique, you just know you will never have that moment again. Even though it's hard for me sometimes, I think it's incredibly important to not rush through life. To not treat every day the same and take a step back and appreciate those special moments...for just one more minute.
